Standley Middle School’s 2nd Annual Career Fair will be held on April 19, 2017 in the courtyard area of the school. It will consist of 50+ presenters from a variety of professions. These professions vary from carpentry, pilot and restaurant owner to TV producer, DNA sequencing and scientific researcher.
They are divided into 16 areas of interest that correlate with inventories taken by 7th and 8th grade students. It is a fulfilling learning event. It combines students, parents, teachers and neighboring businesses in an attempt to guide students in the Career decision making process through exposure to businesses and services including CCTE Pathways offered at UC High School.
Presenters are at marked tables by category of trade. Questions are provided to guide student inquiries if lost for words.
This is a hands-on event with many exhibitions giving students an opportunity to get in on the fun. We have many parents involved as presenters, and learning from others alongside their children.
This is a community cluster event including our feeder elementary schools as students ready themselves for the transition to Standley Middle School. We are including neighboring sites to make this a true “Community Event”. By building these bridges, we pave the way for our students to find success in the future world of work.
Hope to see all of you at Standley on Wednesday, April 19th at 4:30 P.M.
